I phoned Pipex again. Just now. 10 minutes ago.
I tried to pay my bill. You know, the one for my broadband connection.
The system gave an error when putting my card details through. Usefully it was a “An error has occurred please try again” error. (I asked the man to read it out).
I was asked, Do I have an alternative card to pay on?
Well, yes I do, I replied. Only I’d rather do the payment on this card. After all, as the French would have it: je suis le customere.
I have been asked to call back.

Don’t do it – don’t waste any more of your time or phone bill. Wait for them to call you. Which they will eventually……
