the unique way the bbc is funded

I assume that the population of the UK don’t have to put up with the insult of adverts on the BBC News website? And that it’s the Rest of the World who are faced with inappropriately placed flash animations of expensive watches and other things Essex market traders value?

This being the publicly funded, tax swallowing, behemoth which forces me to cough up almost 140 quid a year just so I can watch the occasional episode of Dr Who? Not sure who gets the best bargain there, 13 episodes of Russell T.Davis’s homo-erotic “re-imagining” of TV’s longest running sci-fi programme for over a tenner a shot, or £135.50 for 9.75 hours of my time.

Oh yeah, “Auntie” wins both ways.
